FileMaker bold fonts fuzzy

I just updated to Leopard (yeah a little late) and now in filemaker 7 the bold fonts are fuzzy. This also happened a few years back when I upgraded to Tiger. It only happens in filemaker, which is a pest. Any ideas what is causing this?

It's hard to tell without seeing it, but it could be that Filemaker is trying to anti-alias the fonts. Are there settings in Filemaker for anti-aliasing? (I haven't used it in years.)

Does the fuzziness change if you go to System Preferences, click Appearance, and change the Font Smoothing options?

No its nothing to do with anti-aliasing settings as I've already fiddled with those. Its something to do with how filemaker reads its fonts. I suspect it can't render the newer Leopard fonts correctly.

My filemaker files reference Tiger 10.4 fonts that may have been overwritten with Leopard fonts. That's a guess.

try using something like Cocktail, OnyX, or TinkerTool System to flush all the various font caches.

If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?
