If you're using Safari, go to File > Save As and select Web Archive (it's at the bottom of the page and is the default format).

It's something that should read "WordPress website."

To answer the question, it'd help to have a better idea of your goal.

Do you want to keep an offline record of a WordPress site that you can view in a Web browser? Best bet is to make a Web Archive with Safari, or use a Web downloader program--there are many of them on the App Store.

Do you want to keep a backup of a WordPress site you own, so that you can move it to another server or restore it if something happens? Log in to your WordPress site, and from the Wordpress dashboard, choose Tools->Export. Then choose All Content and hit Download Export File. This will download an XML file onto your computer of everything on the site--posts, comments, users, images, pages, settings--that you can upload to a new WordPress installation with Tools->Import.

I did not create the site. I need the contents of the site for reference of something I am working on. The only thing I am able to download is the first page.

Pinning the page might work for you. If you're in Safari, go to Window > Pin Tab. Or, consider bookmarking it.

Won't give me the contents to refer to later. The person stopped adding to it and I'm afraid they will take it down soon.

SiteSucker ($4.99), Site Downloader Pro ($4.99), Web Downloader Pro ($89.99), and Offline Pages Pro ($24.99) are available from the App Store and are specifically designed to handle that specific situation. There are a number of freeware Unix/OS X apps also but most of those require at least some Unix command line expertise to install and/or run.

The one I used many years ago was Site Sucker, but many things have changed and many new web technologies have emerged since then, so I am not qualified to make a recommendation. Try a Google search for reviews and be sure and specify Mac in the search string.

I need one that will download to my MBP. The apps above don't seem to work on it.

Did you try the version of SiteSucker that's appropriate for your version of OS X? (See d/l links in linked MacTracker page.)
