In Safari 5.1.9, this window refuses to respond to keyboard commands: command-H, I, M, N, Q, S, T, W, and , / command-shift-I, S; it responds only to menu bar clicks, the three dots in the top left corner of the window, and the + sign in the tab bar. (Did I miss anything?)

Is this unique to my setup, or do others experience it?

And can anybody explain what's happening?

I do not like it one single bit! mad

Thanks.

Edit: Same thing with Firefox 20.0.1.

Edit: I just noticed that Goodmans.net places a cookie and cache from Thawte, and I wonder why?

For what it's worth, I tried keyboard commands on a PC with Firefox and it was also non-responsive.

On a Mac since 1984.
Currently: 24" M1 iMac, M2 Pro Mac mini with 27" BenQ monitor, M2 Macbook Air, MacOS 14.x; iPhones, iPods (yes, still) and iPads.

On my machine (OS X 10.8.3, Safari 6.0.4) that site refuses to load period. It gets partway through and just stops.

I loaded it in Firefox. The page does exactly what you said, by design; it uses a complex JavaScript to intercept keystrokes from the keyboard. It looks like they're doing this so that you can use the arrow keys to activate and go through the menus, but it doesn't seem to work correctly on Mac browsers.

Thanks for figuring that out.

Navigating "Browse By Brand" and "Browse By Type" with the arrows works for me...at least I haven't experienced its failing to work (if that's what you meant), but I don't take kindly to anybody's "commandeering" my deuced Mac(hina) for any reason, let alone one as trivial as to facilitate a Website.

And this'll get your goat: I just discovered a keystroke that works..."delete" to go back a page. tongue

'Hack'arounds like the one I'm mentioning here aren't always possible or even desirable due to possible unintended side effects, but you might want to check out Many Trick's Safari extension Command-Click Avenger to deal with the Command-T issue, particularly if you're a fervent tabber. tongue

Thanks for the link; I'll keep it mind against future necessity.
