The latest versions of Firefox and Thunderbird were released the other day, and a strange issue emerges:
As noted in the Release Notes for Firefox 9.0.1, for Mac OS X, "Some users may observe missing icons in the History and Bookmarks menus (see bug 705516)". That's certainly true with Lion 10.7.2.
The bizarre thing is that, while the drop-down Bookmarks menu in the Apple toolbar demonstrates loss of all the previously shown favicons, such is not case for the exact same list in Firefox's Bookmarks toolbar or in the Show All Bookmarks window, both of which still demonstrate all the appropriate favicons (brought over from Firefox 8.0.1).
The troubleshooters at Mozilla note (in bug 705516) that while Firefox 9 is affected (and not uniformly so), the bug has ostensibly been fixed in Firefox 10 (which is obviously still in rudimentary beta stages).
In the interim, any ideas how this issue might be dealt with – ie, getting the Bookmarks menu in the Apple toolbar to exhibit the same behavior as the Firefox Bookmarks menu?
