Gee, I wish all the old postings from macfixit lived somewhere because I had a great string of how to do this. Can anyone tell me how to do it again?

Greatly appreciated.

To search within the current page in Safari the commands are

  • F (Command+F) -- Find the designated string
  • G (Command+G) -- Find the next Occurence of the string
  • ⇑G (Shift+Command+G) -- Find the previous occurence of the string

You can also find these in Safari's Edit menu.

If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?

I've found that recently my MacFixIt Forums "bookmarks" are loading again, just requiring varying degrees of patience. shocked
I think, possibly, my previous impatience may have contributed to them "not working." blush

I'm not sure exactly what your problem with the old MacFixIt forums access is or was, but perhaps it's an issue dealt with in the thread Fix for macfixitforums archive slow loading. Meanwhile, the Search function, disabled when the old forums went in archive mode, has been restored by CNet.

I did read the thread but did not pay too much heed as, at the time, it seemed a bit too complicated for my delicate brain (also, I never seem, for some reason smirk to get much success/sense out of Terminal) . I've had another quick look and will probably try out the suggestion/s.
Thanks. Regards. Mike
