Was just on another log in (not this site), and saw the remember me box. On internet do you find that remember me works? It seems on many sites it does not? On this site for example. Is this a waste of time to always be checking? I thinking maybe never never really ever work anywhere.?

For me, it also seems to work on some sites and not others. Have you contacted tech support for that site?

"Remember Me" actually does work on FTM, but you may be misunderstanding its functionality.

There was a thread fairly recently explaining it, but I don't know where; maybe someone else can link you to it.

But you're correct about its not always working. I've given up trying on any number of sites.

Thanks today, I clicked the box and though, maybe this does not ever work anywhere, and I should not bother ever clicking that box again. How does it work?

Cyn is saying that remember me just keeps you logged in. How lame, I thought remember me, implies a website keeps you logged in even though you may not be there for weeks or months. It's useless then right?

No, it's not useless.

"Remember Me", at least as far as FTM is concerned, keeps you logged in for a month. (It's only a month because of a mandatory[?] 30 day life limit on the cookies that store the pertinent info.)

Apropos of that, I just received an announcement about Ghostery Lite which mentions, among other things, the following...

Quote:
Apple recently announced that with the macOS Mojave release (sometime in late 2018), Safari will take a more aggressive stance on privacy and security. This release will include:

Cookie partitioning with Storage Access API requires user consent for 3rd party cookies on each website and purges all cookies after 30 days

So as far as Safari goes, beginning with Mojave, "Remember Me" will be limited to 30 days on ALL websites.

I hope there's an override option for that restriction.
