 Messages disconnected from Yahoo

I have Messages (iMessage) on my macbook pro which I actually use. Now when I try to connect, it says "disconnected" from Yahoo. Nothing has changed. My Yahoo email works just fine. Any ideas how to reconnect this? I did a Google search but couldn't find an answer.

If I understand your situation, try going to Messages>Preferences>Accounts and "enabling" the affected account (once you select it in the sidebar).
On a Mac since 1984.
Currently: 24" M1 iMac, M2 Pro Mac mini with 27" BenQ monitor, M2 Macbook Air, MacOS 14.x; iPhones, iPods (yes, still) and iPads.

Hi Ira: Yes, it's been enabled the whole time. Like I said, nothing has changed. I went out and rebooted it but it didn't make any difference.  If I understand your situation, try going to Messages>Preferences>Accounts and "enabling" the affected account (once you select it in the sidebar).

Rita Yahoo has shut down their desktop Yahoo Messenger servers effective September 1, 2016. As of September 1, Yahoo messenger supports only iOS, Android, and Web browsers. Desktop clients such as YIM, Trillian, and Apple iMessage are no longer supported, and attempts to connect from such clients are refused.
