Tired of supporting a nasty hack of a window type in java (a modal java window) chrome has disabled it. and apparently firefox isn't far behind.

The main user for this is the Upload button in Microsoft's Outlook Web App. (if your company/school uses Outlook webmail for your employees to access their email via browser) It pops up a modal upload box. Well, now it doesn't.

There's lots of commentary on this, but here's the one page with an actual (temporary) workaround

http://superuser.com/questions/816311/fixing-outlook-web-app-on-chrome-for-mac

it involves creating a computer-wide plist for Chrome that gives it a pitiful "please, sir, can I have just a little more?"

This reprieve expires at the end of April. If MS hasn't changed their code by then, you'll have to change browsers if you want to be able to attach files to an email via webmail.
