What steps do I need to go through to make my mail server running on os x (10.4.11 actually, an old beast) do ssl? I'm cheap, I don't want to pay for an ssl certificate. Is it possible? I assume the process involves rolling up my own cert, sending a CSR to someone that's in a trust chain, and get them to sign it. I'm ok with a reasonable one time (or periodically renewed) fee, but I'm not budgeting hundreds of dollars on this, and last I looked I thought ssl certs were quite expensive.
