I had both programs open when I tried. The dialog box in Firefox indicated that the Safari bookmarks were imported successfully. I did not see any changes, so I quit Firefox and then opened it back up. There were still no changes. What am I doing wrong?

Gregg,

Perhaps when you imported the bookmarks, you inadvertently sent them to an unusual or now hidden place place, e.g., maybe they are in a bookmark toolbar, but your preference is to not show the bookmark toolbar.

If more guessing is allowed, maybe a search/find of one on the more arcane imported names will yield a clue of their whereabouts.

Did you look at the options in Firefox's Bookmarks menu? They may have been placed in an unaccustomed spot. Alternatively, you could try using BookIt to synchronize bookmarks across all your browsers. It works very well for me. I have read good comments about URL Manager Pro but I have never used it myself.

Ok, you both got it right at about the same time, so I chose not to pick either post to reply to. FF created a new Bookmarks folder called From Safari (found at the very bottom of the Edit Bookmarks sidebar) and left all of the previous bookmarks intact. Since 99% of them are the same, that's not as useful as I had hoped it would be. I know that 99% of the changes were made in one particular bookmarks folder. I'll try to delete that and move the new one into place, then get rid of the rest of the imported folder.
