Yeah that one tops my list of "strange error messages in console".

My watchdrives script was coughing up what looked like io errors. I went looking in console to find

11/24/13 12:08:31 AM kernel disk9: alignment error.

It was only present in "All Messages" log. (I typically see "disk1 i/o error" type messages in System Log)

So, anyone heard of this before? My backup scripts have been causing rsync to cough up "read error detected, file deletion cancelled" errors periodically on this drive. So I assume it's the real deal and have a failing hdd. I just haven't seen this particular error ever before.
