Help With Finding External Drive Case

I am planning on purchasing a Samsung 850 EVO or Pro 512 gig SSD in the "near" future, when prices start dropping even more. My plan is to install the drive inside a nice, slim 2.5" external case, make 2 partitions of 256 gig each in size, and do my weekly SuperDuper! backups for each of my machines to the partitions.

Of course, I realize the SSD will be fast, but I really want to "optimize" the connection/interface. (There could be times when I would want/need to boot either of my Macs from the appropriate bootable partition made by SuperDuper!). My preference is Firewire 800, but I can work with Thunderbolt. I have searched numerous times, and I can't seem to locate any such slim 2.5" cases with either interface. Either the connectivity is via USB 3.0, or the case is larger (and more bulky) than a 2.5" one.

So, if anyone knows of any such enclosures, I would appreciate any information.

A quick look at Amazon reveals 2 possible candidates, one for under $25 and one from Other World Computing for just over $65......the OWC enclosure is far better built.

Thanks, MM. I just tried to look on Amazon, and I did not see one for $25. Here is the link of the ones I found:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_36_1?fst=as%3Aoff&rh=n%3A172282%2Cn%3A541966%2Cn%3A172456%2Cn%3A11548952011%2Cn%3A160354011%2Ck%3AExternal+Hard+Drive+Enclosures%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_four_browse-bin%3A6022607011%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_browse-bin%3A5492129011%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A6528334011%2Cp_n_condition-type%3A2224371011%2Cp_36%3A1253504011&keywords=External+Hard+Drive+Enclosures&ie=UTF8&qid=1455496813&rnid=386442011

All the real slim ones that have Firewire 800 also only have USB 2.0. I would prefer USB 3.0 (just in case).

I actually have a nice, slim Orico External 2.5" case (just about fits in my shirt pocket!) that is USB 2.0. I would like to find one about the same size, with the Firewire 800 interface.

I'll keep searching, and I really appreciate your assistance.

Thanks. Wish they had one that has a "direct" Firewire 800 connector, and a USB 3.0. one. Wonder if one could be found that has a Thunderbolt connector, and a USB 3.0 as well?

Thanks, MM. Yes, I will keep looking. I really like the slim Orico 2.5" external enclosure that I have. It was perfect for me to put in the (slow) 1 TB 5400 rpm that was in my Mac Mini (I replaced that with a fast, Samsung 840 Pro 256 gig SSD). It's definitely handy when I travel with my 13" MacBook Air. Here's a lionk to the one I have:

And yes, it is super, super easy to install (or remove) a drive in or out of it.
