safari 5.1.10 OS 10.6.8 I have been trying to download some bridge lessons. Selected and started the video, held down option & shift keys, went to window and double clicked the item I wanted. When I try to open it, it says "This video is not available" Has something changed or have I got something wrong. Some of the sites say I need software in order to download a video. Torrents show zero results. Jaybass

There could be lots of reasons for your issues, but the one that jumps out at me first is the old version of Safari that you are using. I understand that is associated with your OS X version, but… .

Many "modern web pages" assume your browser can handle some of the current programming techniques and features inherent in web sites.

Then again, it could be something completely different and simple. tongue

I have iSkysoft iMedia Converter Deluxe and my son said that was all I needed to download YouTube videos. First open YouTube, select and start the video you want. Open iskysoft. Return to YouTube and direct your mouse to the top lefthand corner of the video and the word 'download' will appear with a dropdown menu giving you a choice of quality.(Not all videos have this menu) And of course you can add several videos to the process. I am very pleased with the result. Thanks Ira for your reply. jaybass

You might wish to consider Download YouTube Videos as MP4 1.8.5, which is a Firefox "extension that adds direct links to download YouTube videos as MP4 and FLV. It has a simple interface and it downloads videos directly from YouTube. The extension integrates with YouTube's interface and adds a download button below the player."

I'm sure there is lots of lots of software for downloading as I've been made aware but what I have will download anything and convert it to any format I wish. Thanks for your response. I still don't know why the old method didn't work. jaybass
