With new QT 10, I see the play pause bar in the movies, way to detach it out of the clips? Covers a lot of action! Also, no way to default where/ or size of new screen size you want?

Once you hit the play button and move your mouse pointer off of the quicktime screen all of the controls should disappear until you move the mouse back over the quicktime screen.

Mark, interesting becuase I'm new to the ineterface and just tested on a short 6 second clip. Indeed the dang thing finally leaves after 5 seconds or so. But for 4/5 of that clip I could not get rid of it. Anything I can do? anymore control or preference I can get over the bar? I'd like it outside of window except for full screen. Also when open these windows they shoot up to uppor left of my huge 27". The software is not smart enough to remember where you want your windows to open? ie in center of screen?

The only thing I can think for viewing the short clip is to open with Quicktime 7, which has the controls under the viewing window. I am assuming you are using Snow Leopard, if that is the case you can open with Quicktime 7, not the new version. It should be in the Utilities folder which is in the Application Folder. If it is not installed you can install from your Disks that came with the computer or the Snow Leopard Disk. I updated from the Snow L disks and don't know how the new machines come. I have the same beef about where the window. I can't seem to find any preferences for this application as in most applications.

Mark, this is not life and death situation. I'm not going to utilize a old software so I can see 4 seconds of video without a bar. I just asking if there is anything I can do?
Also still asking this: when open these windows they shoot up to uppor left of my huge 27". The software is not smart enough to remember where you want your windows to open? ie in center of screen?

Have you tried option clicking on your window to try to save its position?

You could try using QuickTime Player X Preference Pane to reduce the number of seconds of delay before the controls fade away. Also, Apple allows the installation of QuickTime 7 simultaneously with QuickTime X because even they know that X is very much incomplete.

Actually solved the centering issue with Keyboard Maestro. but don't see anywhere in QT 10 anywhere to start over a video from the beginning.
