Two QuickTime Players?

As I recall, when I installed Snow Leopard, I “automatically†ended up with two QuickTime Players: 1) QT 10.0 (with new icon) in my Applications folder, and 2) QT 7.6.3 (with old icon) in my Utilities folder. Now that I am running 10.6.2, do I still need the QT that is in my Utilities folder?

I have that too. I opted to install QT7 when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. I'm keeping both around, just in case. You may find this MacWorld page relevant. As I understand it, sometimes one version loses the functionality of the other and vice versa. I haven't encountered any problems yet so I can't speak from experience.

Hi, Pendragon Additional posts about the two QuickTime versions can be found in Snow Leopard & Quicktime.

Thanks to you both. I now know what happened (sorta), though why Apple could not have included precluded this issue still escapes me. Perhaps if I knew something about programming & coding and the like…
