I just installed iOS 10.2 on my iPad and now have an orange Home button in the top left area of the screen - right on my daughter's forehead. Grrrr.
If I touch the "Home" button I get a window asking me to enable iCloud. Thanks anyway.

So, long story short, how do I get rid of the "Home" button?

FWIW I have looked at all the iOS devices around our house running iOS 10.2, and iOS 10.2.1 Beta 1 and none of them have an orange home button anywhere. However all of them already have iCloud enabled, so that may be the difference. 🤔

If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?

I too have never seen that "Home" button. Ever. I don't think Apple does it that way for anything. Is it the result of some other app that is running?

On a Mac since 1984.
Currently: 24" M1 iMac, M2 Pro Mac mini with 27" BenQ monitor, M2 Macbook Air, MacOS 14.x; iPhones, iPods (yes, still) and iPads.

I assume you have iCloud enabled.

It's definitely an Apple icon and, as I mentioned, if I touch the "Home" button I get a window asking me to enable iCloud. I Googled the issue and am certainly not alone. Lots of people have the icon on iPads, iPhones et cetera and wish to get rid of it. However, I couldn't find a solution that would work for my iPad.

Hmm. Hmm. Just to be double certain, in Settings you have iCloud turned off and the option to show the icon on the Home screen is turned off as well?
