According to this article iOS versions 7.0.6, 7.0.5, 7.0.4 and 6.1.x have an opening for malicious apps to record touch screen touches. The article suggests that the solution, until there is a patch, is "....to use the iOS task manager to close apps operating in the background..." When I checked my iPad Settings under General there is nothing called Task Manager. There is, however, something called Background App Refresh. Is this what they mean?

On the iPad, like the iPhone, if you double-click the Home button, all running apps are shown (this is in 7.x). Swipe up on a running app that is shown in this mode and it will fully quit.
In iOS 6.x or earlier, you would hold down the Home button until all the apps start to jiggle, then "X" out the ones on the tool bar (not on the screen; this deletes the app) to quit them.
On a Mac since 1984. Currently: 24" M1 iMac, M2 Pro Mac mini with 27" BenQ monitor, M2 Macbook Air, MacOS 14.x; iPhones, iPods (yes, still) and iPads.

Thanks. So the best bet is to do this action just prior to initiating any sensitive connection, like banking, to foil any intruder who has snuck through in the background music of a legitimate app. Getting robbed was much less complicated when muggers just wore a mask and said: "Stick 'em up."
