I just installed the 10.8.3 Combo update without issue. Well, if there are issues lurking, I have yet to discover them. Stay tuned…

Upon completing the first stage of the DL and install, the subsequent "double restart" was about twice the time for a normal restart, but typical for an update. Restarts since then have been normal.

Upon installation of 10.8.3, I ran DiskWarrior v4.4 from a different volume and much to my surprise, DW found nothing to fix.

I also ran the foreign languages removal via TinkerTool System v3.1 and, of course, there were numerous files to remove. Again, all went well (as expected).

And finally, I ran DU, and again, all was normal.

So for me, 'twas an easy & smooth update, but as yet, I see no benefits or detriments.

Indeed, I hope this update is equally trauma-free for you too.

Interesting, I just installed the Combo Updater on 2 drives and both were a single restart. No problems so far either.

I ran the regular software update via the app store. The only minor issue I had was my Mail app disappeared from my dock and needed to be dragged back in.
