Signed Out - Syncing is Paused

I have a silly question - one that is peeving me slightly, and one that no amount of YouTube reading/listening can assist me with - so I have to ask in this forum.
I upgraded from an iMac 2012/2013 to an iMac 2017 .. yes, I cannot get away from away from the iMac tool - I enjoy them so, and the 2017 has an advantage over earlier models - the glue can be cut and the front opened from the back with no warranty issues (I think) but that is not the issue.
The issue is the syncing error .. the 2017 stats are as follows:
Mac OS Mojave Version 10.14.6 Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 Memory 8 GB 2133 MHz DDR4 Startup Disk Macintosh HD Graphics Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 1536 MB
(and before anyone asks NO I am NOT going to upgrade to Catalina)

Maybe I re-read your post too quickly, but I am missing the question. Signed out of what, syncing what? Sorry if I missed it.

More details such as what all iis this occurring in, what data are you syncing and to what other device or location, the steps you took that lead up to the message, is it repeatable, etc.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?
