Should I reinstall Mountain Lion?

Before installing Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard 10.6.8, I forgot to upgrade VMware Fusion 3.x to version 5.0.2. When I booted Mountain Lion the first time, the VMware Fusion 3.x icon in the dock was crossed out. Since Fusion 3.x was nonfunctional in Mountain LIon, I had no choice but to carry out the Fusion upgrade to 5.0.2 by booting from the 10.6.8 drive that I had preserved. Now that I am up to date, is there any way I can install Fusion 5.0.2 on Mountain Lion without repeating the Mountain Lion installation? I'd like to avoid paying for a second license by downloading from VMware's web site. If there is no other way, I will re-install Mountain Lion from 10.6.8. I do have a few emails now on Mountain LIon that I'd like to preserve, but I'll sacrifice them if necessary. Advice is most welcome.

Never mind. I found a way to rescue the emails by reopening 10.6.8, so I went ahead and re-installed 10.8.2. The installation time was much quicker for the re-installation of 10.8.2, but both installations of Mountain Lion went smoothly and without a hitch. VMware Fusion was its usual difficult installation due to the inscrutable instructions and endless windows containing a lot of confusing and irrelevant stuff. VMware makes me so very grateful for Apple's approach to installation and use of its software. The only company that possibly outdoes VMware in confusing installations is Nuance in my humble opinion.

If a moderator wishes to delete this topic, it's fine with me. It really doesn't provide a whole lot of insight and it has become an editorial.
