another random bug

Open a picture (anything but a bmp) in preview. save as. select "microsoft bmp". close it, open it, whatever you like. Looks great, doesn't it? Now try to get anything but quicktime to render it. (send it to a windows box for example)

Bust out a hex editor for a surprise. It's saving the height as a negative number. A picture 160 pixels high is saved as -160 pixels high. Quickdraw apparently doesn't mind, but other stuff (like my arduino...) certainly notices the difference. tongue

Wow. That's...bizarre. I've never had cause to save a BMP from Preview--I use Photoshop--but that is indeed a significant bug.

weirdly enough, it's caused by the rotation of the image. It apparently rotates it about the 0,0 instead of the middle. Weird.
