iOS 9.3.5 probably the last iOS 9 update was released today and includes patches to fix three security vulnerabilitys that were exploited by surveillance software created by the NSO Group to jailbreak an iPhone and intercept communications. This is a serious vulnerability and all iOS devices should be updated immediately. (Compare this with the arguable 1 million reported vulnerabilities in the Mobil Windows OS.)

iOS 10 developer beta 8/public beta 7 no details on what changes were included in this beta but I would lay odds it included the vulnerability patches included in iOS 9.3.5.

If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?
