MacOS 10.14.5 beta 5 and iOS 12.3 beta 5 were released to developers today and within hours to beta testers. These beta releases came only a week after beta 4 which is generally a sign that unless something unexpected turns up the general release should be within days. Nothing particularly exciting in these updates, some new emojis, some bug fixes, an Apple News+ tweak, and in iOS a new TV app. At this point the major development effort is already going to MacOS 10.15 and iOS 13. I only encountered one significant glitch in MacOS 10.14.5 beta 3, which disabled Malwarebytes Premium auto checking, but that was resolved in beta 4 (at least Malwarebytes started working again concurrent with installing beta 4, but that could have been a coincidence).

CONCLUSION: I have found nothing to be wary about in 10.14.5 or iOS 12.3.

If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?

It's available to me, so I'll run the Delta forthwith as has become my custom since macOS has become so stable...after updating my clone, though. tongue

I've been meaning to ask if you've actually been beta testing both 10.14.6 and 10.15.0 simultaneously? That seems like it would be insanely demanding and frustrating.

As has been said before, your efforts on our behalf are much appreciated.

After 19 minutes and 4 restarts, I've updated with no immediate problems.

(During the course of the installation, 10.14.6 was referred to as an upGRADE, rather than the upDATE it really is.)

4 restarts? I used the combo updater, then read that it is only recommended if you are updating a system older than one step back. Nevermind. It's working fine, but announced that Microsoft 2011 needed updating as it would not work with subsequent updates. So, I guess joemikeb is correct in assuming it's the last Mojave update.

No mention was made about my Adobe products needing updating, but they will, except for Photoshop thankfully.

I used the Combo updater. I walked away for my morning coffee while the update was in progress, so I don't know how long it took. The only glitch (and this happened with the 10.4.5 update also) was that the Adobe Bridge icon in the dock was was replaced by a question mark. It was a simple matter to remove the question mark and reinstall the Bridge icon in the dock.

Otherwise, everything seems to be OK.

Good heavens NO! I may be crazy to be a beta tester, but I am not crazy enough to beta test two different MacOS versions at the same time. Just keeping track of all the app updates for one version is a pita. For example I have one beta app that runs perfectly on Mojave but is useless on Catalina because of display errors and glitches. At the same time the current release version of that same app works perfectly on both Mojave & Catalina 🤷‍♂️and although that is unusual it is not completely atypical.

I found this page , which appeared promising but it directed me to the App Store where only 10.14.6 is available.

This is NOT authoritative, but I'm pretty sure that 10.14.0 is no longer available from Apple.

The app store is updated after each macOS update, and if you can't find someone who's got the earlier versions archived, you're dead in the water. (The best I"ve got is 10.14.5.)

Apple's attitude is that for security purposes every user should be using the latest release of the current OS. Since you are starting from High Sierra your entry point would be to follow the instructions in this Apple Support Document.

NOTE: you cannot install beta versions of either Mojave or Catalina unless you have registered your computer in Apple's beta test program and you have to register specifically in either the Mojave or Catalina program.

I don't know if this is important to you, but beginning with Mojave you can no longer d/l versions of macOS earlier than the one you're running from the App Store, so if you want to maintain an archive, now is the time to do your d/l'ing.
