But did you hold onto the 14MB Apple 1984 ad – which you would never have been able to save to or store on the original Macintosh (128k)?

I remember the first external hard drive that I purchased around 1986: a 30 MB "behemoth" (not GB, but MB). I was in heaven and overwhelmed by the capacity.

And since you mentioned it, I actually found the "Open Me First" packet that came with my Mac SE/30 (eBay anyone?) smirk . Now that was a blazingly fast machine!

On a Mac since 1984.
Currently: 24" M1 iMac, M2 Pro Mac mini with 27" BenQ monitor, M2 Macbook Air, MacOS 14.x; iPhones, iPods (yes, still) and iPads.

I am also a "since 1984" user (never owned one of those 'other' machines) and still have stuff from then.

Remember the MacPaint and MacWrite instructional cassettes that you had to start at the same time as clicking start on the mouse to synchronize the audio with the images? Yup, some of those still hanging around as well as first editions of MacWorld and MacUser.
