To me that depends: if the cheaper options are omitted from Orbitz's offerings altogether you'd be right. But I could live with chart-topping premium fares as long as the cheaper alternatives are listed too. Currently that's my main question on the topic.

PS, talking about questions, I also wonder whether User Agent changes can influence this, as has been suggested in other instances of Mac Marginalization. If done properly by Orbitz that shouldn't work, but I haven't heard of any documented attempt to try this.

As explained in these reader comments, it turns out Orbitz doesn't omit any travel offerings, but only rearranges them for Mac users. Sorting search results on price will still let you peruse the ones best suited to your pocket book.

they probably ran some database queries to see how browser and platform affected buying decisions, and adjusted their display order to put the more frequently chosen options nearer the top in the first list displayed.

not that surprising, really. and not likely done for any of the paranoid reasons being mused.
