CNET climbs further down the toilet

Slashdot is blasting CNET's download.com (and I presume this will be rolled into versiontracker.com / macfixit) for forced bundling of apps inside their custom installer, complete with sidecar bloatware. Oh, you want that free download? Here, why don't you also have a toolbar, and a few other little apps, and a home page change. How convenient! Now after I install that app I'll need to take a short break to uninstall all the crap you stacked in with it.

That kind of stuff really irks me because I'm a person who doesn't add much to my machine but, when I do, I'm careful to find out from more knowledgeable people (such as at FTM) about what is good or not. Who needs some doofus group making important installation decisions on your behalf? ryck

When CNET, or anyone else, resorts to that kind of value junk added. It appears they are struggling and will do anything to make money.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?
