When I do a search, I only get the threads, not the posts ( or is it the other way around?) Is there a way to get the posts? I tried to look up download manager and got 200 hits but I would have had to read them all to see which ones actually had "download manager" in the post.

Thanks, Rita

Try this, Rita...

Click on "Search," then on "Advanced," and then check the "Show a preview of post body with results." box on the page that comes up.

I think that will help you.

The Forums search engine treats multiple-word searches by finding all instances in which any of the listed words are present. Thus, your search on download manager finds both download and manager.

To find only those instances in which the complete multi-word phrase appears, put the phrase within quotation marks: "download manager" yields just 14 results over the past year, 11 of which occurred in a thread you started. smile

Right, I found those that I started!!! Ha-ha. Only this is a different issue. I want to download videos at off-peak times (after midnight) so I don't go over my satellite bandwidth. I need it to have a scheduler. And be free if possible.

Between you and Artie, and JoemikeB, I think I get the search thing. It helped a lot. Thanks.
