one of the things I liked at MF was the "Users Online". it's nice to see who's around. I know that we don't want to get into a bunch of statistics, but another forum I frequent which uses UBBThreads, AWordADay has several modules on the right hand side, some of which might be interesting.
I am definitely not looking for more work for tacit, or any of the mods, but thought perhaps some of the possibilities might fit well here.

I think right now, some of that stuff is not active simply for performance reasons.

I believe you can opt out of being "revealed" by setting your preferences. Some people don't want others to know when they are active. So, you don't get a completely accurate picture of who's on when you are.

when the server issues have been resolved, I would love to see the "Who's Online" if it's possible to load that without the other things. right now it kind of feels like walking into a cafe and having to put on a blindfold.

and as Gregg mentions, I know it's likely an incomplete list, but I don't think most of us would hide our presence here.

Roger, I'm not sure if it will be in an island (UBBT term) or a link added somewhere, but I'm hoping to make Who's Online available before too awful long.

Do you find the islands at AWordADay distracting?

not at all. I do have a 22" monitor, at 1680x1050, so I have plenty of real estate. perhaps for someone with a smaller screen, they might be in the way?
