Safari 16.5.1 cannot access http://anatomy.com/ All I get is a blank window, even though the right side of the address bar shows the circular arrow. Firefox has no issues. Is anyone else seeing this? Any explanations?

I changed the address http to https, and I got a connection with a warning., and even after overriding the warning I got a blank page. I couldn't get in with Firefox either.

And more: I just tried again with Safari and got "An error occurred.

Sorry, the page you are looking for is currently unavailable.
Please try again later.

If you are the system administrator of this resource then you should check the error log for details.

Faithfully yours, nginx."

I just tried that site in Safari after disabling extensions and it loaded. I did see "not secure" in the address bar.

I gave it a try with Safari and got the blank page....also tried the circular arrow to reload but nada. I booted up FireFox and the site opened just fine....did a bit of quick click-on-this, click-on-that, and everything worked perfectly.

The blank page issue in Safari is not limited to that page, as I have run across it at other sites. They've always been cases where I could get the information elsewhere, so I just moved on. However, next time I get one of the blank pages, I'll post the link in this thread.

I wondered if the pages wouldn't open because they they didn't meet some security standard that Safari wants. i.e. it's less about "Safari can't access this site" as it may be Safari won't access this site.

I still can't get in with either Safari or Firefox.

Did you try disabling extensions? That worked for me.

Bingo! Dunno why I never think of it, nor why we don't get a "can't access...ad blocker" window.

Not that I'm the least bit interested in anatomy now that mine has pretty much wasted away, but thanks for reminding me that extensions exist. tongue

I hope you weren't looking in this direction when you said that!

I find in probably eight out of ten cases I find turning off content blockers allows the site to display. More and more sites are either blocking access to browsers that have content blocking enabled or have annoying overlays that cover much of the content.

Until this time, I've invariably gotten a page with a mass of text that has told me - all the way down at the bottom - that access was denied because of a content blocker. This blank page was a first.
