Has anyone who uses Firefox been experiencing some weird behavior in Firefox 26? It started with Firefox 25.

Log (error) entries along the following lines – often repeated over and over again:
14-01-05 10:09:56.611 firefox: invalid context
14-01-05 10:09:56.611 [0x0-0x489489].org.mozilla.firefox: 2014-01-05 10:09:56.610 firefox[13264:9003] invalid context
14-01-05 10:09:56.612 [0x0-0x489489].org.mozilla.firefox: OpenGL version detected: 210

Several browser crashes which seem to be associated with same.
Crash reports forwarded to Mozilla (with no response or apparent resolution of the problem). This never happened prior to Firefox 26.

Sporadic but frequent log-outs (including FTM), 'erasure' of "Remember Me" entries for sign-ins, etc. These are in addition to crashes (where such might be expected).

Do you have any add-ons that might be conflicting with FF? If so, have you updated them recently? You should also disable them and see if that helps. In my experience, Ghostery has been a culprit, causing problems with FF and Safari.

> Sporadic but frequent log-outs (including FTM)....

I've experienced a few FTM logouts with Safari 5.1.10 recently, so that may be an unrelated issue.

I'm running Ghostery 5.0.6 (not willing to take on not-ready-for-prime-time version 5.1) and haven't had too much of a problem with same, but when I have, disabling it for the nonce took care of the issue. That version antedates Firefox 25 and 26.

This issue is more far-reaching, not to mention annoying, especially with the 'erasure' of "Remember me" for logins on various sites (which inevitably require re-entry of lengthy login info).

And the fact that Firefox crashes seem to identify the problem residing in "OpenGL" (graphics) would seem to be further indication of such.

Over the past week the weird behavior continues, even with Ghostery disabled the entire time (as a precaution/test).

FTM's "Remember me on each visit" function sporadically turns itself off (requiring renewed log in) despite no change in cookies or other items.

Unless someone has a more productive suggestion, I may revert to Firefox 24 to see if it makes a difference.

That's been happening to me as well, with no change in browser [Safari Version 6.1 (8537.59)] preceding the onset of the quirkiness.

However, it's entirely possible that said quirkiness began subsequent to tacit's updating of the forums software to UBB.threads 7.5.8 on 12/10/13.

So, is the suggestion that we furtively gain access to tacit's lair and ...? smirk

That sounds like a good call.

Apropos potential interference via Ghostery:
The folks at Ghostery just now updated version 5.0.6 to 5.1.0 (at least for Firefox). So I'll re-enable it and see what happens.

FWIW, Ghostery does not find any tracking sites in FF or Safari when browsing FTM, so I doubt that the update will make any difference. The early expiration date of the cookies seems to be the likely culprit. See this thread for more info.

True. However, I meant my comment with respect to the original 'complaint' of this thread.

Have you seen cyn's post in the Lounge in which she advised us that the default life of cookies changed from 1 year to 1 week with the last UBB.threads update?

That explains the mysterious log-outs, but not why you, Jon, and I are the only three people to have noticed.

Edit: I guess we three are the only FTMers who never log out.

Harking back to the original post, I now think that the sporadic deletion of "Remember me" options — not the problem associated with the UTTB upgrade — may have been due to my not noticing that the login page(s) had not fully loaded before I logged in (ie, "Remember me" box remained unchecked), with the result that such was deleted when login page next accessed. Once having recognized that I have had no further difficulties in that regard.

The new Ghostery (5.1.0) seems to be working fine.

However, the original complaint still remains elusive as to what might be going on.

Firefox has become a no-go for me. I haven't switched out the cable box I have been having problems with, but now only Safari works. Even having it on the computer slows down Safari, Ghostery or not.
